About Me

Me in front of the entry gates for the Louvre

I do not color inside the lines and when given the choice, always tend to choose the road less taken. It can be a challenge, but it’s something I’ve never regretted.

The East Coast and Nashville have been my home throughout my life’s journey and I now reside in suburban Maryland near my tribe. I tried Florida not too long ago, but after seven years of incessant (and increasing) heat and daily summer storms, found I missed the change of seasons. It is also great to live near the Nation’s Capital with access to so much culture and stimulation. It is so vital and makes me feel alive.

When I create, I am typically unfettered, careless, in the moment, and occasionally stray toward the wild and unhinged. I lose track of time as if on a bender, only one not drug or alcohol induced. I draw inspiration from nature, and my process is organic, and I work in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, charcoal, graphite, and encaustic and depending on the day and my inspiration, paint some figurative, landscapes, sea and citiscapes too. More and more, however, I let loose in mixed media abstract works and truly lose myself in them.

My artworks are found in private collections and grace a few corporate and institutional walls too. They’ve been included in shows in Europe, ANZPac and the U.S. from coast to coast. Making art is one of my greatest joys and I hope that translates into the overarching message taken from my work.

Check the gallery for some of my recent favorites and if you have any questions or thoughts you’d like to bounce off me, feel free to message me through one of the social channels I’m on, the links for which can be found below.
